Elevate this classic mackerel pate with Rodda’s Cornish clotted cream and spread on fresh bread.

  • 200g smoked mackerel
  • 1 tsp horseradish sauce
  • 3 tbsp Rodda’s Cornish clotted cream
  • ½ lemon, juice only
  • 1 tsp finely chopped dill
  • Freshly ground black pepper


  • In a bowl, remove any bones and skin from the mackerel fillets and carefully break into small pieces.
  • In a separate bowl, combine all other ingredients, leaving a small sprinkle of dill to finish.
  • Add the mackerel and fold through to avoid breaking down the mackerel too much.
  • Spoon into a ramekin or small dish. Top with a twist of black pepper and the remaining dill.
  • Serve with crusty bread and butter.
