Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer

Duties cover a broad spectrum of engineering disciplines including mechanical, electrical, automation including PLC programming, utilities - steam, compressed air, water etc.
timer Job Type: Full Time 42 hours per week average

timer Hours: Shifts: 12 hours shifts, 3 on, 4 off followed by 4 on, 3 off, Sun, Mon, Tues and every other Weds - Hours: 6.00am to 6.00pm and 10.00am to 10.00pm on a two-week rotation
timer Salary: £45,300 per annum for fully qualified and experienced Engineer
timer Location: Scorrier, Redruth

Requirements

  • proven Multiskilled Engineer with electrical bias preferred.
  • served apprenticeship, preferably in the food industry but not essential.
  • qualified to at least NVQ level 3 (or equivalent, ONC mechanical/electrical engineering, BTEC level 3 in mechanical & electrical/electronic engineering).
  • appropriate C&G 2382 BS 7671:2018 18 Edition IEE regulations qualification.
  • good knowledge of automation, PLC programming and SCADA systems, ideally Allen Bradley.
  • competent in electromechanical & pneumatic Systems, electrical panels, industrial wiring, welding, machining, steam boilers etc.
  • proven track record in an Engineering and fault-finding role gained from within a FMCG environment (ideally food industry)
  • good understanding of HACCP principles
  • strong teamworking skills and be H&S focussed
  • must live in Cornwall and have own transport

 

This is a Scorrier based role so applicants must have own transport and accommodation in Cornwall.

Role Responsibilities

  • be an active and supportive member of the engineering team.
  • maintain all machinery, ensuring that it is capable of producing to maximum efficiency and meets all H&S requirements.
  • complete both electrical and mechanical pro-active & reactive maintenance.
  • attend breakdowns and provide engineering support to various departments throughout the factory.
  • be on call to cover issues overnight 1 week in 4
  • action repairs and ensure all measures taken are recorded so recurrent faults can be recognised.
  • actively seek equipment upgrades and improvements to improve machine safety and efficiency
  • assist outside contractors working on site.
  • respond to alarms and emergency situations.
  • use the engineering CMMS system to log all work and stores requests.
  • have a positive, ‘can do’ attitude and always show a ‘spirit of teamwork and cooperation’ with colleagues and customers.
