RODDA’S – THE CREAM OF CRICKET AND GOOD CAUSES
Rodda’s, owners of a large, fifth generation
family business based near Redruth in Cornwall have manufactured
Cornish Clotted Cream for over 100 years. They are sponsoring
the Big Cream Tea as a fund raising and profile building
exercise for cricket and good causes.
Spearheaded by Andy Caddick, Vice Captain of Somerset Cricket
Club and former England pace bowler, supported by Richard Gould,
Chief Executive of Somerset Cricket Club, the Big Cream Tea was
launched on Sunday, 29th April at the County Ground in Taunton.
Individual Rodda’s clotted cream teas and associated merchandise
were provided for the launch event and will be available at
other grounds throughout the UK during Summer 2007, easily
recognisable by the Big Cream Tea branding and Rodda’s Fleur de
Lys historic vehicle. The proceeds will be donated to cricket
and selected local/national charities – supporting the
Children’s Hospice South West at the opening event.
As a family business founded in 1890 and committed to excellence
Rodda’s pledge that every pot of their clotted cream, liquid
cream, crème fraiche or butter you buy will meet a standard
worthy of the Rodda’s name.
From its earliest days, Rodda’s has strived to set new standards
of consistency and performance. At first delivering only as far
as a horse and cart could travel in a day. Since then they have
developed new ways of extending shelf life, perfecting freezing
techniques and introduced insulated pots for posting, ensuring
total quality assurance in health and hygiene. Today this means
nationally supplying supermarkets, caterers and corner
shops…with exports reaching as far afield as Hong Kong. -ends-
